Ronde felt the cool mist on her fur before the Falls came into sight. The fresh scent of water filled her nose, and Ronde started to run. Her tongue lolled as and she spotted the Crystalline Falls. Her muscles rippled underneath her glossy black coat. Ronde didn't pay any attention to the wildlife that surrounded her as she sprinted through the forest.
The falls were a beautiful, with a sparkling pond beneath it. The cave behind it was dark as always. Ronde was always baffled by the beauty of the Falls, and it was one of her favorite places. Besides her thinking rock, that is. She smiled at the thought of it.
Before she could envy the Falls a little more, Ronde plummeted into the freezing water. It hit her like a watery rock; it felt like a rock when she hit the water. As Ronde struggled to reach the surface, she felt the cool water seep into her fur. It felt good, for once.

asato [1], His paws were sore and his pelt was matted like a wolf who had just fell from a cliff. Because well...he had. Luckily for the brute, his body hadn't been majorly damaged by the fall. He had a few cuts and bruises, but most of it was because of his awkward landing. The scent of gore hung around nose, and Asato believed that the side of his muzzle had been cut by a sharp root or stone.
He sighed, recalling the amounts of time he had fallen back in his home on the mountains, his landing always on top of soft, cold snow. But, he could no longer call that his home. Packs were on a killing spree, and if he were to return, he'd be asking for a death wish. Asato carried onto the forest, memorized by how different the prey was here. The deer were smaller than the elk he used to hunt, and the rabbits were as brown as he was. The floor had small hints of snow patches, but would soon melt away as the sun grew hotter and higher.
The sound of rushing heavy water suddenly bounced in his dark chocolate auds, his body turning in the direction of the source. Water. He was parched, but there could be wolves. But the image that popped into his mind wasn't the big, fierce males wolves, but of pretty and available faes. He smiled and made his way over, his body yelling at him to slow down as his paws were already sore enough. He ended up falling over an uproot, but gladly this was concealed under the cover of forest.
Suddenly, he stood on a raised ground, overlooking the beautiful but powerful waterfall below. He wagged his tail at its beauty, his fur raising up as the mist surrounding it wet his fur; the air damp. Asato also happily noticed the lone fae enjoying her time swimming, and already his mind was on high alert. She could be of pack, and she could already be mated, but the heavy sent of water mixed with soil and other forest creatures made it hard for him at this distance. Water overpowered the wolf's scent, and in order to get anymore info he would have to get closer.
With his body slightly lowered, he swiftly landed on the hard stone that surrounded the crystal lake. It felt good on his paws, and it almost caused him to lie down right there and then. But he was more interested in the wolf swimming.
"Enjoying the swim? Feels like the perfect day to take a soak for sore bodies." He smiled in a charming manner, his paws bringing him closer to the edge. His eyes never looked away from the stranger, even as he lapped up the cool water. His multicoloured brown fur was now lined in small droplets of mist water, making his thick pelt already heavy. He probably wouldn't be swimming today, the activity never being a strong point of his.
Now at a closer glance, the fae looked around the same age as him, maybe even older. Her fur was a dark pretty ebony and shined with the water. Though, appearances can be deceiving. He had learned this one to many times with faes, 50 percent of the time ending up in their jaws.

A masculine voice reached her wet ears. Ronde turned, her eyes narrowing. Another wolf was lapping at the water and staring at her. A male, it seemed, with brown fur that was a tawny brown in places. He seemed friendly enough. But looks can be deceiving, she told herself. Ronde gave the male an unfriendly stare as she slipped out of the pond. Her fur was heavy and thick with water. Ronde shook out the majority of it, relishing the still-cool breeze. She kept an eye on the stranger. She took a long sip of the water, all the while watching the male, for observation's sake. Her eyes flickered from the wolf to the water. Obviously she didn't want him to catch her staring.
"I am, thank you," she responded after a long pause. She chose her words carefully, pronouncing them slowly, but fast enough so that the stranger wouldn't notice. Her eyes flashed with warning, stay away. Ronde didn't mean it fully, but knowing herself, she hated being around strangers. She licked her lips after taking one last sip. Ronde padded a bit closer.
"Did you fall off of something?" she asked, and mentally flinched. That was not her. Not at all, she thought. But his injuries sparked a curiosity in her that kept nagging at her mind like a young pup.

asato [2], Asato took a few moments and blinked at the amber eyed fae. Just from only a few seconds of meeting her, he could already tell that she was a smart one. She had probably noticed the still drying blood on his muzzle from his cut, and the scent of a mild injury was surrounding him temporarily. She was being observant.
The chocolate brute smiled once again, but it didn't match his eyes. Instead of heading her eyes warnings, he took a step forward to test his limits. His tail was lowered, meaning he meant no harm, but he held his head high. He needed to show some masculine authority, but hoped she wouldn't see him as an instant threat. Asato chuckled slightly, licking the cut around his muzzle.
"Ah, observant. But...it depends. Which time are you referring to?" His eyes flashed a light of mischievousness as he recalled the several times he had tripped or fell off high places along his journey. They weren't fond memories, but at least they had all led up to this moment. She was the first wolf he had seen so up close since his time in the mountains, so no doubt he was nervous, but still he found comfort seeing there was another wolf near here.
As finally he was in a good distance, the scent of packless wafted from her to him. She seemed to be a lone wolf, just like him.

Judging from the brute's gaze, he didn't want her to see him as a threat. Or trying to read her. Wither way, Ronde felt self-conscious about herself. Her ears flicked in annoyance. Was this stranger challenging her? Was he flirting? Or was he just curious? The questions swarmed her brain and she almost forgot to answer him.
"Recently," she answered simply, smiling back to him. Like the brute, it didn't reach her eyes. Ronde started to think. If her copying didn't succeed, then she would have to try a different approach. Running was an option. She could easily lose the brute through the trees and rocks. Or she could fight, which wouldn't be very effective. Ronde wasn't the fighting type. She could talk her way out of it... she obviously had a way with words. Ronde decided to wait and see.
But... Ronde didn't feel like this wolf was dangerous. Well, of course the brute could be when he wanted to, but he didn't seem the type to go attacking every wolf he sees. To be honest, she told herself, I felt a little lonely at times. I miss Mother... Her face fell. Ronde tried not to show it.

asato [3], He could see the different looks and emotions that flashed through her eyes, and it made him uneasy. He wasn't the type of wolf to fight the moment he met someone new, but if it meant he had to defend he wouldn't hesitate to kill.
He was doing his best to defuse the uneasiness rising around the ebony fae, his tail lightly wagging behind him. "No need to be so tense... I'm a loner, like yourself. Traveled from mountain territory." He took another step forward, thinking that perhaps he'd broken the uncomfortable air between them. All he wanted was a friend, making even a traveling companion. But his lack of experience was showing through, his eagerness overwhelming. He flattened his ears at the sight of her own ears doing the same.
He was bigger then her, and if he had the chance he could do serious damage. But she was probably faster, and a game of chase would probably end up with him tiring to quickly. He was meant for power, not speed, and it was something he would have to get use to in this new place he hoped to call home.
"What's your tale? I don't smell any pack on you, surprisingly. A pretty fae like you should be snatched up quickly." He smiled, his flirt meaning to be harmless.

Ronde answered, "A lone wolf?" She sniffed. The brute's scent wasn't familiar, though Ronde recalled meeting a few lone wolves in her past. "I was also raised in the mountains," she said softly, nervous at opening up to this stranger. Ronde felt the uneasiness... disappear a bit.
Ronde watched his face for anything. She was rewarded with a flicker of something. Just something. The brute's ears flattened, possibly at hers doing the same. Again she felt her awareness build, a shield that protected herself. She didn't want to fight, but she would if she had to. With a slight step backwards she saw the brute's mouth open in another sentence.
"What's your tale? I don't smell any pack on you, surprisingly. A pretty fae like you should be snatched up quickly."
The statement startled her. Was he flirting with her? Ronde bared her teeth, lips curling into a menacing snarl. She hated those types of comments. The ones that were flirty, and even sexist. It was too late for her to apologize, for she noticed the joking tone in the brute's voice
